Everything you need before your first visit

How to join the practice, what to bring, how booking works, and what things cost when they aren't covered.

Book an appointment

Accepting new patients

Joining takes about ten minutes

You don't need a referral, and you don't need to be rostered to use walk-in care. If you'd like a regular clinician who follows your history over time, registering as a patient is a short form and a first appointment where we go through your background properly.

Already have a family doctor elsewhere? You're still welcome at walk-in. We'll send a visit summary to your own physician so nothing falls between the two of us.

Becoming a patient

Four steps, start to finish

1

Send the form

Fill in the registration form online or at reception. It asks for your health card, contact details and a short medical history.

2

We match you

We pair you with a physician or nurse practitioner who has capacity, and call you within a few business days to confirm.

3

Records transfer

With your written consent, we request your file from your previous clinic. That can take a few weeks, so we start it early.

4

Your first visit

A longer appointment to go through your history, medications and anything overdue — screening, vaccines, bloodwork.

Your appointment

What to bring

  • Your health card — bring it to every visit
  • A list of medications, including over-the-counter and supplements
  • Results from tests done elsewhere, if you have copies
  • Any forms that need signing, filled in as far as you can
  • The questions you actually want answered, written down

Arrive about ten minutes early for a first appointment so reception can set up your file. If you're running late, call — we can usually shuffle rather than cancel.

A block of slots is held every morning for people who arrive without an appointment. Earlier in the day means a shorter wait.

Costs

What isn't covered

Medical care itself is covered by your provincial health plan. A handful of things aren't — mostly paperwork, travel medicine and notes requested by a third party.

You'll always be told the cost before anything goes ahead. Payment is taken at reception by card or cash.

Sick note or work absence note$00
Insurance or disability forms$00
Driver's medical examination$00

Common questions

Things people ask reception

If your question isn't here, call us — reception would rather answer it than have you guess.

Contact the clinic
How do I get my test results?

The clinician who ordered your test reviews every result. We call you if anything needs discussing or action, and you can always book a short follow-up to go through them properly. Reception can't interpret results over the phone.

How do prescription renewals work?

Ask your pharmacy to send us a renewal request, or book a short appointment if the medication needs reviewing. Allow a few business days. Controlled medications and anything that hasn't been reviewed in a year usually need an appointment.

What if I need to cancel?

Give us at least 24 hours so the slot can go to someone else. Repeated missed appointments with no notice may be charged, since the time can't be recovered.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes — a partner, family member, friend or interpreter is welcome in the room, and for some appointments it genuinely helps. Tell reception when you book if you need an interpreter so we can arrange one.

Who can see my medical record?

Only the clinicians and staff involved in your care, and anyone you give written permission to. We follow provincial health privacy law. You can request a copy of your own record at any time.

Do you see children?

Yes. We handle childhood vaccinations, well-child visits and the usual run of childhood illness. Walk-in is open to children too, and we try to move younger patients through quickly.

If this is an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. The clinic is not an emergency service, and this page is general information rather than medical advice.

Ready to register?

Send the form and we'll be in touch within a few business days with a clinician and a first appointment.
